Ever since my mother put a crayon in my hand at two years old, I have loved to create images. Even at a very early age, I was always drawing my surroundings - people, animals, and still life.
Throughout my teenage years,
I studied art at Staples High School in Westport, Connecticut. I firmly believe that having a great teacher can make all the difference in one's artistic development. I found this truth in James Wheeler, an amazing instructor and mentor during high school drawing. Soon thereafter, I decided to seriously pursue art as a career path at the University of Connecticut, majoring in Illustration.
I always excelled at achieving likenesses in my life drawing class work, so I developed this craft continuously. I also realized a love for drawing and painting animals. After receiving my BFA, I decided that I would pursue animal and children's portraiture. At the same time, I worked as an artist for the Danbury Mint, specializing in painting wildlife figurines.
I choose to be an artist because I love everything associated with being creative and developing a skill.
